As the Adelaide Fringe gets underway this weekend, a new showcase event is about to be announced in Murray Bridge.

Instead of a Saturday night street party in the CBD, the Murray Bridge council will present a free daytime event on the city’s riverfront on Sunday, March 3.

A lineup of performers will be announced in the near future.

The event will replace the award-winning Fringe on Sixth street party, first held in 2019.

Meanwhile, the number of Adelaide Fringe events in Murray Bridge will drop from 20 to 10 this year, and no Fringe shows are scheduled at Tailem Bend or any other nearby towns.

Still, there will be plenty of quality on offer at the Bridgeport Hotel, Murray Bridge Performing Arts and Function Centre and the Station.
