Rocket scientist set to inspire at Showcase SA’s International Women’s Day luncheon

Every year the Showcase SA International Women’s Day Lunch is a sell-out, with this year being no exception. Flavia Tata Nardini, CEO and Co-Founder of Fleet Space Technologies, has just been announced as the lead speaker.

Whether International Women’s Day means celebrating the social, economic, cultural or political achievements of women worldwide, celebrating the inspiring women who live among us, or just bringing people together to raise a glass, this event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate.

“This international women’s day, we have one of South Australia’s most impactful business leaders front and centre. She is a leading example to young girls, and for all women, and what can be achieved with passion, determination, and a resilience to get to the moon,” Showcase SA says.

With a resume that reads like a roadmap to the stars, Flavia Tata Nardini isn’t just a rocket scientist; she’s a visionary leader, a relentless innovator, and a supporter of gender equality in the workplace. She’s changing the environment of technology not just in space, but for telecommunications in agriculture and especially for energy and mining.

At the helm of Fleet Space Technologies, Flavia is steering one of Australia’s most exciting startups towards the forefront of space exploration. Her company’s groundbreaking work in satellite technology has earned international acclaim, with accolades including recognition as Australia’s fastest-growing company by the Australian Financial Review.

“I look at my team and know that we are a better company because we draw our thinking from a rich tapestry of cultures, working backgrounds, and points-of-view. Gender doesn’t feature in how this viewpoint and experience is shaped,” Flavia says.

Her commitment to championing women in STEM is also shown by her involvement in various industry initiatives, including serving on the Austmine Board of Directors, chairing the 7Sisters Moon Mission, and leading the Australian Space Agency Space Industry Leaders Forum.

The event is being hosted on Friday 1st March this year, scheduled a week earlier than traditional International Women’s Day events. It’s so that in 2024 you can make sure you join and attend as many events as your heart desires, while celebrating the many achievements of women.

Individual tickets are available for this event from $180.00 + gst +bf, with last remaining tables of 10 available. All tickets include a two-course lunch and delicious wines provided by Watkins Wine.

Sponsored by Credit Union SA, Showcase SA’s Long Lunch offers a platform for women to come together, enjoy great food, great wines and have you leaving like you could reach for the stars (metaphorically, and perhaps also literally).
