Dubbed the ‘party hole’, hole No. 12 at The Grange Golf Club departs from the traditions of golf, instead offering fans the chance to get rowdy, and celebrate alongside the players.

With all four hospitality venues circling the hole, it brings a gladiatorial feel, with each and every player eager to impress the crowd.

LIV Adelaide hole-in-one history

Adelaide’s Watering Hole has already made a name for itself as an iconic hole, and a huge part of that is thanks to Chase Koepka, who marked the event’s first run with a remarkable hole-in-one.

Koepka was behind one of the most viral moments in golf in 2023, when he drained a hole-in-one to the delight of last year’s crowd.

The audience was more than happy to oblige, showering the player and his caddy in beer as they celebrated.

“I kind of thought if anything it was going to be a little deep, and I saw it kind of pitch in the up slope and take a soft bounce, and I was like, ‘oh, it’ll be close,’ and then the roars just kept getting louder and louder and louder, and when it went in, I started just getting peppered with beer cans,” Koepka said.

“I smelled like beer the whole entire rest of the day. Yeah, it was wild. Crazy experience. I mean, obviously to do it on a hole like that was super special. It definitely gave the fans something to remember.

“The next couple hours I was out there, I was just getting ovation after ovation every time I walked up to every shot, every tee box. It was pretty cool. That’s probably what Cam Smith felt like the entire week, but at least I got a glimpse of it.”
