Ballarat 2024 Australia Day Community Awards: Recognizing Outstanding Community Members

The City of Ballarat is gearing up to honor its 2024 Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Community Event of the Year at a special ceremony on Thursday, January 25th. This annual event, organized by the Australia Day Council and facilitated by Local Government Authorities across the country, aims to celebrate and acknowledge individuals and organizations that dedicate their time to enhance the vibrancy of the community and region.

Community Event of the Year 2024 Nominees

The Community Event of the Year Award will be presented to the group or individual who has organized the most remarkable community activity, regardless of its size, between October 30th, 2022 and October 29th, 2023. Among the nominees for this prestigious award are the Big Blessing Day – Reverse Advent Calendar, Mega Ganesh Festival, Taste of India Food Festival, and the 2023 Op Shop and Vintage Sale.

Ballarat Young Citizen of the Year 2024 Nominees

The Young Citizen of the Year category recognizes individuals under the age of 25 who have already demonstrated leadership, passion, and commitment to the community and region. The nominees for Young Citizen of the Year 2023 include Olivia Wiggins and Jacob Osenaris.

Ballarat Citizen of the Year 2024 Nominee

The Ballarat Citizen of the Year is an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the community and region, often without seeking recognition. This year’s nominee for Ballarat Citizen of the Year is Kevin Moneghetti.
