Thousands to Participate in Run Army 2024 Event in Brisbane – Echo News

This Sunday, Brisbane’s streets will be transformed as more than 7,000 runners, alongside soldiers, police, firefighters, and paramedics, participate in the Run Army 2024 event. With options to tackle either a 5km or 10km course, participants will embark on a journey promoting resilience, health, and wellbeing across the community.

Run Army serves as a platform to raise funds for the Legacy organizations of each service, which provide vital support to veterans and their families. The event aims to foster a sense of unity and camaraderie, bringing together people from all walks of life to support a common cause.

As participants make their way through the city, they will encounter displays of Army equipment, including a Bushmaster, alongside police, fire, and ambulance vehicles. Adding to the spectacle, Army helicopters will take to the air, providing a mini air show for both participants and spectators.

Run Army is not just a local event; it’s a global initiative. Simultaneous events will take place in Townsville, at Army bases across the country, and virtually around the world, showcasing the widespread support for this important cause.

The Run Army 2024 event will commence at 7:00 am, with the 5km run starting promptly at 7:00 am followed by the 10km run at 7:10 am. The venue for this exciting event is the Run Army Race Village, located in Southbank Brisbane.

While the event promises excitement and community spirit, it’s important for those traveling into the city by car to be mindful of road closures due to the event. With thousands expected to participate, road closures will be in effect to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to be a part of Run Army 2024 and show your support for our veterans and their families. Whether running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines, everyone is welcome to join in on the action and make a difference in the community.
