Join us for a thought-provoking evening with Professor Stan Grant Jnr as he delivers the 22nd Vincent Lingiari Memorial Lecture, 2023. This event will take place on Friday 6 October 2023 from 5.30 pm in the Mal Nairn Auditorium at Charles Darwin University’s Casuarina campus.

Professor Stan Grant Jnr, a critically acclaimed journalist, author, presenter and film-maker, will honour the legacy of the remarkable Vincent Lingiari through a captivating lecture titled Two kinds of time: how we can meet each other again in Australia.

Exploring differing notions of time itself, Professor Grant Jnr will examine the clash of understanding between a European linear version of time, measured in progress and production, and a First Nations’ concept of circular time, an “everywhen” that is imbued with meaning.

Don’t miss this intriguing topic and unique opportunity to hear Professor Stan Grant Jnr for his first public address since stepping away from the spotlight on ABC TV’s Q+A program.

Register to attend via Eventbrite

Refreshments from 5.30 pm, Lecture begins at 6.00 pm (sharp) and will conclude at 7.30 pm, after a Q&A session.

A live stream link will be available via the Eventbrite link closer to the event.
