Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Elephant Rock on Currumbin Beach, the Currumbin RSL Dawn Service, considered the largest regional dawn service in Australia, returns on Thursday 25 April.
This annual commemoration is a heartfelt tribute to the ANZACs, as well as a solemn acknowledgment of the valiant men and women who have served in all wars, conflicts, peacekeeping missions and those still serving today. Thousands will be in attendance, standing side by side, as we join together in this reverent observance to pay respects and intimately explore the experiences that shape the legacy of our brave servicemen and women.
The march will starts at 4:35am, leading the way to the dawn service at 5am. In a significant testament to the importance of this event, Channel 7 Sunrise will be broadcasting the Dawn Service Live Nationwide & Internationally, bringing the solemnity and reverence of the occasion to a broader audience.
Alternatively, for a more intimate connection, we extend a heartfelt invitation to join us at our mid-morning service by the club’s cenotaph. Your presence at either event would be a cherished addition to this day of reflection and commemoration.
Timeline
- 3am: Park & Ride starts from Currumbin RSL and The Pines Shopping Centre. Please allow plenty of time to arrive. See Location for details
- 3:30am: Gates to march assembly area will be open. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Village Green (28 Tomewin Street, Currumbin 4223)
- 4am: March assembly and registration check
- 4.35am: March off
- 5am: Dawn Service commences at Elephant Rock, Currumbin Beach
- 6am to 7am: Return Park & Ride Service
Following the dawn service back at Currumbin RSL there will be a Gunfire breakfast free for veterans, sub branch members and still serving personnel and $5 for general public.
No registration needed for areas surrounding the ceremonial precinct.

To Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: 3am to 4:45am
From Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary: Conclusion of the service at 7am.
Drop off is a short walk to Elephant Rock.
*Gold coin donation for non-veterans with funds going towards our Veteran Support Centre.
