Reconciliation Tasmania’s biggest event – NRW Breakfast. We showcase speakers celebrated in the reconciliation space, educating the wider community around the NRW theme and communicating broader issues affecting our Aboriginal communities.
We are excited to announce our two keynote speakers for our 2024 NRW breakfast in nipaluna/Hobart:
SHANE HOWARD – former Goanna band frontman, award-winning musician, and long-time reconciliation activist and;
GED WATTS – a young palawa man who grew up immersed in cultural activities on-country, and whose speech at the National Reconciliation Week (NRW) Breakfast in Launceston last year moved people to tears. Ged was one of the most powerful speakers Reconciliation Tasmania hosted across out of the six events held state-wide.
Shane has been a vocal ally of First Nations people’s right to justice and self-determination for over 40 years. When with Goanna he wrote the anthemic ‘Solid Rock’ a foundation song for the path toward truth telling.
