“Tasmania is truly a beautiful place – from the deep-water start into the Derwent off the Brooke St Pier, to the first indoor transition in the region, the bike course with the most elevation in Oceania and the run taking in the historical Hobart waterfront, we really have created a course like no other,” they said

“The event team would like to thank athletes and the local community for their support of IRONMAN 70.3 Tasmania in its first two years.”

They did not say why the race would not be returning, but confirmed they will take time to “review and look at options” for the future.

The local community and athletes have shown immense support for the event during its first two years, with hundreds for across the country and overseas taking part.

In 2024, Nick Thompson from Western Australia claimed the title of Pro Male winner, while Chelsea Sodaro emerged as the Pro Female champion.
