Anzac Day 2024 Road Closures, Toowoomba – Darling Downs

Anzac Day services will be held across the Toowoomba region, with a large number of people expected to participate at various events throughout the day.

Additional police resources will be deployed to ensure the 2024 Anzac Day commemorations are not adversely affected by anti-social behaviour or traffic issues.

Police would like to encourage the public to drink and act responsibly when commemorating Anzac Day, respecting the nature of the occasion.

Motorists can expect delays and traffic congestion at road closures but are reminded that times are only indicative and police will reopen roads once deemed safe.

Road closures and approximate timings for events are as follows:

Toowoomba

  • Bell Street, full closure from 4am to 10.30am
  • Chalk Lane, full closure from 4am to 10.30am
  • Chronicle Lane, full closure from 4am to 10.30am
  • Church Street, full closure from 4am to 10.30am
  • Club Lane, full closure from 4am to 10.30am
  • Margaret Street, between Ruthven and Hume Streets, from 4am to 10.30am
  • Neil Street, between Jessie and Russell Streets, from 4am to 10.30am
  • Austral Lane, full closure from 4am to 12.30pm
  • Burstow Street, between Margaret and Burns Streets, from 4am to 12.30pm
  • Kitchener Street, between Margaret and Clopton Streets, from 4am to 12.30pm
  • Margaret Street, between Hume and Lindsay Streets, from 4am to 12.30pm
  • Stirling Street, full closure from 4am to 12.30pm

Drayton

  • Brisbane Street, between Rudd and Parker Streets, from 6.30am to 8.45am
  • Luck Street, full closure from 6.30am to 8.45am
  • Rudd Street, full closure from 6.30am to 8.45am
  • Darling Street, full closure from 6.30am to 8.45am
  • Colvin, Frawley, and Canning Streets, between Brisbane and Camboya Streets, from 6.30am to 8.45am
  • Glennie Street, between Lynch and Parker Streets, from 6.30am to 8.45am

Highfields

  • Sean McCarthy Way at Lauder Drive, Community Court, full closure from 4.30am to 6am
  • Balmoral Street, between Lauder Drive and Rogers Drive roundabout, from 8.30am to 12pm
  • Lauder Drive/Balmoral Street, intersection to Sean McCarthy Way, from 8.30am to 12pm
  • Obrien Road roundabout from 8.30am to 12pm
