Happy to take the $5 about RESERVOIR DOG. Think he just found the 2238m a tad too far at Sale last start, especially as he was flushed our before then turn and had to make a much longer run than expected. He was still only narrowly beaten on the line. He will settle back and be saved for the last crack at them and drop in distance looks ideal. AFFORDABLE is helped with the claim and draws to be on speed.
SUGGESTED BET: Reservor Dog to win at $5.

RACE 2
MAGIC has been well found at the $3 mark and he is probably rock bottom at the price. He did resume with a strong effort at Randwick Kensington three weeks back and shapes as though the 1400m on this big track will suit him. Draws to get the perfect run and just needs luck in the straight. SPELLMASTER will be on speed and looks talented, while MASONRY hit the line hard last start.
SUGGESTED BET: Boxed exacta 4,9,10. Boxed trifecta 4,5,9,10.

RACE 3
I know this is much harder but there was a lot to like about the ease of the win of BOLD JULIUS at Warracknabeal. He raced three wide to the turn and then showed great acceleration to win as he liked without being fully extended. Helped by the claim and the good draw and happy to take the $7 to see how good he is. PANTELONE was gelded before a strong win at Bendigo and he will be even further improved.

RACE 4
I’ve got no doubt KOROBEINIKI should have gone closer to winning at Sale last start if he had better luck in the straight. He was held up at the top of the lane and then had to change course a couple of times in the running, hitting the line hard behind the smart Insulation. Doesn’t strike an overly strong line-up here and draws to get the gun run. $5 is not a bad offering as he could start shorter. DUNALLEY is consistent and looks the main threat.
SUGGESTED BET: Korobeiniki to win at $5.

RACE 5
I thought FLORIDA DREAM was a big chance at the Valley last Saturday but he was scratched because of a wide draw. Gets to a bigger track here and draws the rails, where he will get a nice trail in midfield. Has caught the eye his last couple in much stronger grade and, with the claim, only has 3kg over the limit. Great value at $9.50. SIRIUS BLACK is an imported stayer who won as he liked at Warracknabeal last start and can measure up to this grade.

RACE 6
THE CREATOR was out of sorts at his first Aussie start at Flemington a month ago and has been freshened up. He had won his only two starts in NZ very impressively and well worth another chance here at the $5 mark. ANGRY SKIES is down in grade and was okay late when resuming. He has talent and can go close.
SUGGESTED BET: The Creator to win at $5.

RACE 7
COTEL looks ready to win. Down in class after finding the line with gusto late at Caulfield a month ago behind Cute As. With the claim here, she only has 2kg over the limit, reckon the extra 100m is what she is now looking for and is over the odds at $9.50. ETERNAL FLAME showed plenty of talent in stakes grade during the autumn. This may be short of her best but she will be charging home.

RACE 8
Really can’t believe the $26 on offer about TARZI CALLING. I’m sure he will start much shorter on raceday. He was well supported late when resuming here in June and caught the eye running on well late behind Sig Positano. He had plenty of excuses last start at Morphettville. Since had a soft jumpout and gets Ollie on board. Great value. EXTRATWO will start the hot fancy here on the back of good form in stakes grade before a break and she has jumped out well for this.
