Exploring the Beauty of Lewes: A Perfect Day Trip for Game Enthusiasts

Are you a game enthusiast looking for a fun and exciting day trip? Look no further than Lewes, a charming town in Delaware that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and entertainment. Join us as we embark on a journey to explore the wonders of this picturesque destination.

Enjoying the Ferry Ride and Basking in the Sun

Our adventure begins with a ferry ride to Lewes, chosen by our group for the sheer joy it brings. As we set sail, we are greeted by beautiful weather, making our November visit even more delightful. The outside decks of the ferry provide the perfect spot to soak up the warm sun and gentle breeze. We sit at the back of the vessel, mesmerized by the sight of seagulls gracefully flying over the wake, searching for their lunch.

Amidst this serene setting, I couldn’t help but marvel at the grandeur of our Father God. The beauty of the day, the effortless flight of the birds, and the blessing of family all serve as reminders of His presence in every detail of our lives.

Gratitude for Life’s Blessings

There are moments when my heart overflows with gratitude for the abundance that God has bestowed upon me. Even the smallest and most unexpected gifts from Him bring tears of thankfulness and joy. It is truly a wonderful life that He has blessed us with, and it is our duty to share this joy with others.

Delightful Lunches and Diverse Culinary Experiences

Upon reaching Lewes, we are greeted by Kathy, my cousin, and her daughter, who drive us to a local restaurant situated by the canal. As we enjoy a delightful lunch, we catch up with each other and cherish the precious moments of togetherness. Whether it’s Lewes or Cape May, our region offers a diverse array of restaurants and seafood galore, making it a food lover’s paradise.

Exploring Sunset Beach and Embracing Winter’s Charms

As winter approaches, we find solace in visiting Sunset Beach, one of our favorite go-to spots. After a day of meandering along Cape May’s highways and byways, we arrive at this serene destination. Each visit takes us on a different route, and we often bring snacks to enjoy in the warmth of our car while watching the ferries come and go at the park on Beach Drive. If the sun is high and warm enough, we may even make a stop at the zoo to keep the chill off.

There is never a dull moment in Cape May County, with various events taking place throughout the year. By keeping an eye on the Herald’s ‘Do The Shore’ section, we always find daytime fall to winter fun activities to indulge in.

A Heartwarming Parade and Feeling Blessed

Unfortunately, our Lewes trip caused us to miss the Lower Township Veterans Parade, an event that always stirs deep emotions within us. Both my husband Neil and I served in the Air Force, and the parade serves as a reminder of the incredible support and camaraderie we experience from the small-town folks in Cape May County.

We feel immensely blessed to have ended up in Ocean City, where we can fully embrace all that this area has to offer. From exploring 1920s-era dollhouses to indulging in countless activities, there is very little in South Jersey that we have not seen or visited.

Embrace the Winter Magic in Cape May County

As we conclude our journey, I encourage you to take the time to partake in the numerous events available in Cape May County this winter. Whether it’s exploring the beauty of Lewes, enjoying delicious meals, or immersing yourself in the charm of Sunset Beach, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Let the magic of this season fill your heart and soul.
