This year, the City of Adelaide is proud to host its first citizenship ceremony of the year ahead of Australia Day. We congratulate our new citizens and the City of Adelaide Citizen of the Year finalists. It’s a time to celebrate our diverse community and honor those who contribute to its growth and success.

Lord Mayor Jane Lomax-Smith is thrilled about the upcoming celebrations and expects thousands of people to gather at Elder Park. She says, “The city is the center of Australia Day activities, and the Australia Day Council has organized a vibrant program of events. From the Aus Lights on the River event to the fireworks displays, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

The City of Adelaide is committed to supporting Australia Day events held within the city. This year, we have invested $182,000 in activities at Elder Park in partnership with the Australia Day Council. We want to ensure that everyone has a memorable and enjoyable Australia Day experience.
