Located at Fairnie Park on the Geelong waterfront, this entrance will set the scene for the largest keelboat racing regatta in the Southern Hemisphere. A More Visible and Tantalising Welcome
Festival of Sails Chairman, Paul Buchholz, expressed his excitement about the new entrance, stating that it was designed to establish the atmosphere right from the start. The goal is to invite people to explore and join the festivities at the RGYC clubhouse, where the main entertainment and presentation areas will be located. The new area offers more options for visitors to relax, sit back, and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.
Important Ticketing Information
While the Festival of Sails is a free event in 2024, it becomes a ticketed event after 6pm each day to manage the expected number of visitors. To ensure you don’t miss out on all the fun, make sure to book your tickets online in advance. Tickets will be available on our website, and upon arrival, you will need to show the confirmation QR code on your phone for entry. Remember, ticket numbers are limited, so book early to secure your spot!
Exciting Entertainment Highlights
This year’s event promises an incredible lineup of entertainment. From rock band Body Type to Aria winners Southern Sons and the Australian INXS Show, there will be something for everyone. Don’t miss out on performances by emerging artists and family favorites like the Mik Maks and the Royal Australian Navy Band. Plus, on Friday, January 26, there will be a flyover by the heritage RAAF 100 Squadron at 1pm, followed by the spectacular “Festival of Sails Fireworks” at 9.30pm to kick off the regatta.
But that’s not all! On Saturday, you can enjoy the Discover Sailing experience on Eastern Beach and watch beach volleyball matches on Friday and Saturday. There will also be fabulous market stalls and a new foredeck marquee experience with a bird’s eye view of the main performance stage.
