Come along to this hands-on school holiday workshop to learn about coastal erosion and how we keep our beaches healthy!
PLEASE NOTE – We’ve postponed this event until Tuesday 9 April at 10:30am due to the forecast very high likelyhood of rain on the original date (Thursday 4 April) . We apologise for any inconvenience. If you already booked a ticket for this event, your ticket is still valid and there is no need to rebook. Please check you email for more details. Apologies for any inconvenience.
Join the Our Beaches team for this FREE, fun educational workshop all about the forces that impact our coastline!
This workshop will involve playing in the sand, building sandcastles and using water to simulate erosion. We’ll use a small scale model to demonstrate how erosion affects our coastline and what we do on the Gold Coast to manage it. Then it’s over to the kids to try it for themselves! They’ll also learn how wild weather and climate change can damage our beaches, as well as the small things we can all do to care for them.
This session is recommended for children 8-12 years. Parents are required to attend with their children, but don’t need to book a ticket.
