Christmas on the big screen in Maitland

Maitland Regional Sportsground is about to get a whole lot of festive cheer with a massive Christmas movie and carols night planned for later this month.

A double feature will screen two timeless Christmas classics on the sports ground’s brand-new big screen with Elf kicking off the festivities at 5:00 pm, followed by The Santa Clause at 7:15 pm.

There’ll be plenty of chances to sing-along too with intermission filled with the festive sounds of Christmas carols performed by the team from Maitland Musical Society.

“The event promises an evening filled with holiday cheer and a variety of family-friendly activities,” Maitland City Council Coordinator City Events and Activations Adam Franks said.

“Attendees can engage in kids’ crafts and lawn games, catch a glimpse of Santa and the Grinch with their festive car displays, enjoy a bite at the BBQ or food trucks and grab some free popcorn.”

Tickets for this festive extravaganza are free for kids aged 17 and under, while adults can secure their spot for just $5.
