Maitland is going all out for Christmas this year with an event program that promises to light up the city.
Today council launched their Christmas program that features a lineup of community events ready to spread the festive cheer like never before.
The program includes Santa photos at The Levee, a towering Christmas tree, outdoor movie screenings, and a stack of kid-friendly activities hosted by Maitland Regional Art Gallery, Maitland Libraries, and Maitland Gaol.
“Christmas in Maitland is a time for coming together as a community and
celebrating the joy of the season,” Maitland Mayor Phillip Penfold said.
“Whether you’re looking for family-oriented fun, traditional holiday experiences, or opportunities to give back to the community, there’s something for everyone this Christmas,” Penfold
Maitland’s beloved street Christmas light competition will also return this year.
Local residents are being encouraged to team up and transform their streets into dazzling displays of festive lights and decorations.
A special movie night is also scheduled at Maitland Regional Sportsground on featuring screenings of holiday classics like Elf and The Santa Clause.
