However, there is one event that stands out among the rest when it comes to attracting corporate travellers.

According to data from Corporate Traveller, the Australian Open reigns supreme, surpassing all other sporting events in terms of flight, hotel, and ground transport bookings. Corporate Traveller Global Managing Director Tom Walley emphasizes the growing popularity of the Australian Open among corporate travellers. He notes that bookings for the 2024 tournament have already surpassed the previous year by 21%, thanks to the rising trend of combining business and leisure travel, known as ‘bleisure’.

“Many corporate travellers have booked fares well in advance to avoid holiday airfare price increases,” he said.

“These events are also the perfect opportunity to blend business travel with leisure. With Melbourne being home to several sporting events, business travellers can network and host their clients while also offering tickets as an employee incentive.”
