As June approaches, we’ve partnered up with the Lake Mac events team once again to share some of the highlights of their event calendar.
And it’s a pretty stacked one. This month you” be jumping into some amazing art, fun with your furry friends and a live music experience you’ll never forget.

FLOAT YOUR BOAT

The competition will see boat owners from around the Lake adorn their vessels with lights and join a vibrant flotilla parade on the water. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Lake Macquarie, spectators will gather along the shores to witness the colourful procession before casting their votes for the Newcastle Permanent People’s Choice Award. The live sites around the lake will feature live music, roaming illuminated performances, entertainment, children’s activities, and food trucks.

LAKE MACQUARIE DOBELL FESTIVAL

Discover local art this June during the annual Dobell Festival. It’s a month-long celebration inspired by the life and work of Sir William Dobell, a renowned artist and former resident of Wangi Wangi. Known for his passion, innovation, and creative excellence, Dobell’s legacy continues to influence and inspire the arts community. The festival features a diverse array of events across Lake Macquarie, including engaging workshops, insightful presentations, captivating music and theatre performances, and vibrant exhibitions.

A DOG DAY OUT

Enjoy a paw-some day out at the Sculpture Park which is happening at the Museum of Art and Culture on Sunday, June 30. A day dedicated to our furry friends is one of the highlights of the 2024 Lake Macquarie Dobell Festival. Sir William Dobell loved his pet dogs and this event will give people the chance to have their dogs sketched or photographed by professional artists as well as participating in a dog-inspired writing workshop, and enjoying various art-making activities. The day will be accompanied by dog-themed tunes from musician Tony Jozef!

LIVE MUSIC LAKE MAC PRESENTS BUDDY KNOX PROJECT
