One of Queanbeyan’s favourite two-day foodie/family events is coming back to the Queanbeyan Showgrounds next weekend.

The Aussie Night Markets will return on Saturday, 17 December, from 4 to 10 pm and Sunday, 18 December, from 4 to 9 pm with their signature international street food, gourmet sweet and savoury treats and wide range of kids carnival rides and games.

You’ll also get access to a variety of more than 40 boutique stalls selling local products, and this time round, rumour has it, there’s going to be a jumping castle and a snow machine.

The Aussie Night Markets have been run since 2016 by a group of night market lovers who wanted to create a place where people could enjoy gourmet food, desserts and see a variety of retail stalls.

Now, six years on, their mission is to create a platform that continues to support local businesses and ties the community together.

This month alone, the Aussie Night Markets have travelled all around Sydney and regional NSW, including Albury, Nowra, Goulburn, Maitland, Coffs Harbour, Tamworth, Dubbo, Forster, Cessnock, Lithgow, Port Macquarie, Bathurst and more.

The upcoming Queanbeyan event is the Aussie Night Market’s next fixture, and one of their final stops for 2022.

Entry to the markets is only $2, and attendees will then get access to all the great things on offer at the showgrounds.

There will also be $25 wristbands available across the two days, which will give kids unlimited access to rides.

A giveaway of five prize packs including a $40 food and dessert voucher and two kids unlimited rides wristbands will be up for grabs.

To enter, participants are required to click ‘Interested’ on the Aussie Night Markets Queanbeyan Facebook event.

Winners will be drawn and announced on the day of the first event via Facebook.

Some of the savoury street foods on offer at the markets include pasta, dumplings, noodles, bao buns, steamed yum cha, gourmet burgers, Asian skewers, southern-friend chicken, Spanish paella and gyozas.

If you’re craving sweet treats you’ll be able to choose from a variety of vendors including The Cream Machine’s soft serves and milkshakes, THICC Cookies’ New York-style thick cookies, Chillato’s gelato and sorbet, James and the Chocolate Berry’s fruit skewers and chocolate dip, to name a few.

There will also be glow-in-the-dark fairy floss from Candy Clouds, cookie pizza, Mr Puffs’ loukoumades (traditional Greek doughnut balls with your choice of toppings), Sisters Crepes’ French crepe pancakes, freshly squeezed juice from Citrus and Sugar, Bulb Soda (drinks served in light bulbs), churros and more.

There will also be a wide variety of retail stalls that have appeared at the pop-up, two-day events around other parts of NSW which sell hair accessories, essential oils and natural products, handmade candles and jewellery, pyjamas, women’s and men’s clothing, crystals, gift hampers, pet treats, Turkish towels, Christmas decor and more.
