Happy to take the $5.50 about SPRING EAGLE, who I expect to start shorter come jump time. He was without much luck in Saturday grade at Caulfield and then had to change course a couple of times before running on late behind Stellar Olympus at Flemington. Draws perfectly here to get the gun run off speed. Look for improvement from DOUBLE GLAZED, who has jumped out well.

RACE 2
Think there is good value here with OH WONDERFUL WHY. Got further back then intended at Wangaratta and baulked for runs a few times in the straight before hitting the line well when clear. That experience will stand her in good stead. ANOTHER SUCCESS and HEAVEN FORBID have jumped out well and look the dangers.
SUGGESTED BET: Oh Wonderful Why each way at $18.

RACE 3
BEOUR BAY was trapped very wide for the entire race but still kept coming in the straight when third to Anahita in the wet here two weeks back. Has same weight from a better barrier, extra 100m should suit and gets soft-track conditions. Good value at the $7.50 mark. ELLENS LICENCE won with ease at Donald last start but looks under the odds to me.
SUGGESTED BET: Beour Bay to win at $7.

RACE 4
FUNAMBULIST was beaten a fair way by Alhambra Lad here two weeks back but it was first try at this trip this campaign. Slightly firmer ground will be better here and meets that horse 2.5kg better. ALHAMBRA LAD will try to lead all the way again but does rise in weight and may not get things all his own way this time.
SUGGESTED BET: Funambulist to win at $4.40.

RACE 5
I would be amazed if SIR ROCKFORD doesn’t start much shorter than the current $8.50 on offer. Forget his Sydney run last start when he was out of sorts and go on his uber impressive win at Hillside before that, beating home Thorin, Hard Squeeze and Claidheamh Mor, who have all won since. A return to this way of going will see a return to the winner’s circle. MYSTERY MOMENT is worth a small each-way play at $8.50.

RACE 6
FIELD OF PRAISE looks silly odds at the $19 mark on offer currently. She won over this track/trip in January and she beat home Unusual Culture and Little Miss Kubi. She was first-up after 20 weeks in Saturday grade at Caulfield when she raced handy and hit the front too soon in the straight behind Va Via. Much fitter, helped with the claim and just needs some luck from the wide draw. KINGWELL is a half brother to Extreme Choice and won well at Geelong last start.
SUGGESTED BET: Field Of Praise each way at $19.

RACE 7
Always thought TARZI CALLING could win better races than this and he may be on that path after resuming with a fast finishing effort behind Sig Positano here two weeks back. All the better for the run and although he stays at 1200m here, he will be the one charging late. Also happy to have something each way on REDMOND. He was too bad to be true at his Aussie debut and he should improve sharply.
SUGGESTED BET: Tarzi Calling to win at $6. Small each way on Redmond at $18.
RACE 8
TIME QUEST does look the winner on the strength of his effortless victory here two weeks back but he is at a short quote of $2.15. Want to have something small each way on FOR VICTORY. Imported galloper with a sound record and has jumped out well for the Waller stable. Draws to get a gun run.
SUGGESTED BET: Small each way on For Victory at $16. Take Time Quest as standout in trifecta with 1,6,13 for placings.
