An idea sparked at the Live Music Industry Forum, there is a new music industry gathering event series hitting Geelong.
Tired of the forced networking events with an agenda behind them, local music industry giants independent booking agency MCM Bookings, and music photographer and content creator Lucinda Goodwin Photography have teamed up to present the first monthly series called Geelong Music Industry Nights.
Hosted at The Brewery on Little Malop Street, the first gathering in the series will be held Tuesday 4 June from 6.30PM onwards.

Birthed as a chance to bring creatives from all corners of the Geelong music industry together, this Tuesday night catch up serves as a stage to for creatives, musicians, artists and industry professionals to share what they have been working on, brainstorm, work together to overcome creative blocks, ask advice, or simply connect with new and old friends. At a time when the Geelong music industry is in dire straits, with the loss of blues venue Pistol Pete’s and a downturn in audiences attending live music events, MCM Bookings and Lucinda Goodwin Photography simply want to offer a safe space for industry connection and collaboration in a casual environment.
The goal of the Geelong Music Industry Nights is to create an even greater sense of community within the music industry of Geelong, fostering a safe space to share, collaborate and celebrate what each person is working on.
The night promise no awkward getting to know you activities, ice-breakers or speeches. No standing around in a circle ready to pitch your product, and no set agenda other than to be able to get together in a low-key, low-pressure environment with a supportive group of music industry folk.
Outside of the industry night, the dynamic duo have set up a Facebook Group that allows members to introduce themselves and continue the conversation between meet ups!
Both Monique of MCM Bookings and Lucinda of Lucinda Goodwin Photography hold a wealth of knowledge on their own in the music industry and alone are two people that any industry creative needs to know. MCM Bookings has built a successful business as a booking agency and artist services, supporting emerging talent in the Geelong (Djilang), Surf Coast, and Melbourne (Naarm) areas. Goodwin is a household name in the Australian music industry as an award-recognised professional music photographer who is always in the pit at music festivals, on stage with mega touring bands such as Story Of The Year, Sir Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Lauryn Hill, Liam Gallagher, Molly Meldrum, and punk’s godfather Iggy Pop.
